Infrastructure Development Programs

Under this scheme the house less leather artisans will be given financial assistance to construct Living cum Work Sheds through Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation. The artisans who have sites / old house / huts in their name can avail the benefit of the scheme.
Unit Cost:- Rs. 2.50 Lakhs. Subsidy amount:- Rs. 2.20 lakhs. Beneficiary Contribution:- Rs. 30,000/-

Applicants should be from Leather Artisans family who are Scheduled Caste and should be among sub-caste(s) like Maadiga, Samagara, Dora, Machagara and Mochi
Resident of Karnataka
Age between 18 years to 50 Years
Income max 1.5 Lac for Rural and max 2 Lac for Urban
No member of the family should be employed in Government/ Corporations
Only one member in the family can avail the benefits
Disabled/Women/Widows will be given highest priority
Should have certificate of leather artisans profession from local bodies
Should have Vacant site/hut/ruined house in the applicants name
Annual income max 32,000 for Rural and max 87,000 in case of Urban
Disabled/Women/Widows/street side working artisans

Skin artisans must belong to a family of Scheduled Castes belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Samaras, Dora, Adizambawa, Betcher and Mochi communities.
Must be a resident of Karnataka.
The District Committee shall function under the Chairmanship of the Joint Directors / Deputy Directors, Department of Social Welfare with the following members
After selecting the beneficiaries, the above committee will submit the list of district coordinators of the corporation to the head office after getting confirmation.
The implementation of the plan is to be followed by the administrative approval of the Managing Director of the selection list and the publication of the selection list in the respective District Units Notification Panel.

Applicants / dependent members of the family should not be employed by any government / non-governmental employee.
Allowing only one craftsman in a family (family means husband, wife and unmarried children)
If the sanctioned beneficiary is found to be ineligible, the sanction is canceled at any stage.

Promotion of the project and inviting applications before the implementation of the project. Applications will be distributed at the office of the Taluk Social Welfare Officer.
After the last date the District Coordinator of the corporation has compiled and verified the applications from the Taluk Social Welfare Officers and prepared the list of eligible artisans and presented them before the District Committee.
Must be at least 18 years of age and under 50 years of age.
The annual income of the applicant's family is Rs. 1,50,000 / - in rural areas and Rs. 2,00,000 / - should be within the limit
3% should be given preference for persons with disabilities.
Preference for craftsmen who have formed self-help societies.
